COVID-19 Service Changes

COVID-19 Response

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have temporarily changed how we are serving our community in Jackson County.

Social Services

Food boxes are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at 922 North Central Ave.

In addition to food box services in Medford, we will also provide a Home Delivery Service. Please call (541) 773-6965 to submit a food request.

If you need assistance in Grants Pass, other services are available Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM. If you have received a food box from us this month, we can provide a second emergency food box if needed.

Thrift Store

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Medford will reopen on Friday, May 15. Visit us at 922 N Central Ave, Medford, OR 97501 during business hours, Monday - Saturday from 9 AM - 6 PM.

The Salvation Army is committed to keeping our customers and community safe. Strict sanitizing practices are being implemented to follow Phase 1 reopening guidelines provided by the State of Oregon and local counties for retail stores.

Donation pick-ups will resume and the public can call 541-773-6965 to schedule a pick-up.

After-school program

Due to the closure of schools at this time, the after-school program has been suspended until schools resume their regular schedule.

HOPE House

The Medford Citadel Corps is still accepting applications for the HOPE House Transitional program.  The regular requirements are still in effect. During this time period in response to COVID-19 any applicant showing any signs of sickness/ not being physically well will be deferred until they have a 100% physical health.  Participants who are currently in the program will be required to wear a mask and stay in their room/apartments if they show signs of sickness/illness. We also have rooms set aside for quarantine if necessary.

Effective, March 18, 2020 our dining hall has been closed until further notice.  All meals will be provided to participants in “to go” containers which they will need to eat in their rooms/apartments or outside picnic areas.

Jackson County Administration Office

This area is being wiped down and sanitized throughout the day. Partitions/dividers have been set-up to allow for social distancing.  No more than five people are permitted into the administration office at a time.

Corps Programs/Outreach services/Spiritual Care

Our F.E.A.S.T. (Families Eat and Study Together) weekly dinner/Adult Bible Study/Youth programs have been suspended until the meeting restrictions have been lifted. Major Jason and Major Angelina Koenig will be visiting each of the Corps members homes to deliver a care package and paper copy of Bible studies at their door steps.

Sunday Services

Sunday Services have been postponed. We will have prayer stations established in the chapel on Sunday between 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM allowing 5-7 people into the chapel at a time to visit each station and pray for their current needs.  We will also provide LIVE/recorded praise and worship/service on our Facebook page.

We are in the process of making care packages to provide for those who have placed themselves into self-isolation. Currently we are encountering a lot of people in fear and panic. It is our hope and goal to provide encouragement and hope to those in our community.
